Conveniently located just one hour from Denver in the Colorado foothills near Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, Sylvan Dale's 3,200-acre Guest Ranch is nestled along the banks of Colorado's beautiful Big Thompson River.

Named "Best Family Vacation" by Frommer's Colorado Guidebook and rated among the Top Ten Colorado Dude Ranches by True West Magazine, Sylvan Dale has been owned and operated by the Jessup family since 1946. The Ranch offers cabins, guest houses, and lodge accommodations, all with private baths, warmly decorated with comfortable country furnishings and antique accents.

  • RATES — Mid-range in comparison to other B&Bs. We're way above rustic but are not a high falutin' luxury resort. Lower rates on weekdays and during winter months (November through March).
  • LODGING — Tastefully decorated in country and western decor. All units have private baths. Multiple styles of lodging units, including 2 sweetheart cabins, 4 side-by-side cabins and 3 guest houses with complete kitchens. Phones and Internet access available in meeting rooms and Business Center.
  • AMENITIES — Outdoor heated swimming pool (seasonal), tennis courts, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball and game room with billiards, ping pong, Foosball and board games.

  • LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS — One hour and 15 minutes from Denver International Airport. In the foothills seven miles west of Loveland, Colorado, on US Highway 34, 18 miles east of Estes Park, 20 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park. Altitude is approx. 5,280 feet on 3,200 acres.

Under state law, all wine, beer and bartending services in public gathering areas must be arranged through the Ranch. Outside alcoholic beverages must be kept within the confines of individual rooms.

Ask about our Dude Ranch Vacation Packages!

Check in/out: You may check-in at any time after 3:00 pm. There's plenty of time for adventuring! Check-out is a lazy 10:00 am.

Payment: Final payment is collected at check-in. We encourage payment by personal check. We also accept VISA®, MasterCard®, and American Express®. Currently, we are not able to process Discover® cards.

Deposits/Cancellations: A deposit equal to one night's stay will reserve your room. If you need to cancel:

  • Cancellations 30 days or more prior to arrival — Your deposit is refundable, less a $50 administrative fee per lodging unit.
  • Cancellations less than 30 days prior are non-refundable.

Smoke-Free Accommodations: In order to foster and help preserve a healthful environment, NO smoking is permitted in any Sylvan Dale facility, including the Horse Barn. We also do not permit smoking on trails because it can be an irritation to our horses, riders, or hikers. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Communication Services: Internet access and public phones are conveniently located in the main lodges. Many facilities on the main grounds receive sufficient wireless signal for Internet use. Verizon cell service is available in the Heritage while other cell phone services offer limited signal. By popular demand, there are no phones or TVs in the rooms.

Transportation: We would be happy to provide information regarding shuttle services* to and from the airport as well as rental car options.

Pets: Sorry, no outside pets permitted. Our ranch critters are territorial.

Wheel chair accessible: Most of our accommodations have limited accessibility.

Additional Meals: We may be able to arrange extra meals. Please ask at the office if you would like to check on additional dining. There will be an added fee for extra meals.
