Northern Colorado's Best Place For Memorable Experiences
An easy hour from Denver, Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch is nestled in the Big Thompson River Valley, a true mountain get-away for business or pleasure. Eagles soar above the red cliffs while mule deer and wild turkey seek the cool shade of the ponderosa forest. The rushing waters of the Big Thompson, teaming with wild rainbow trout, flow past the main lodge.
Our 5,200 ft elevation promises high adventure without the discomfort often encountered at higher elevations. Our climate is mild in all seasons, so you can enjoy the beauty of Sylvan Dale year-round.
Ranch-raised horses and cattle range on 3,200 acres, over half of which are protected by conservation easements. Our western life style can be central or peripheral to your stay, but the essence of western hospitality can't be missed.
Sylvan Dale has been owned and operated by our family since 1946 when it was purchased by our parents, Maurice and Mayme Jessup. They dedicated their lives to creating a special place — a jewel in the foothills — to share with others. We still maintain our rich heritage, caring for the land and the environment, while keeping pace with the times. "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" continues to be the foundation for our green practices.
All this brings a reverence for life that is easily felt. Whether you retreat to Sylvan Dale for a company outing, to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends, or to "discover your inner cowboy" during a Summer Dude Vacation, you'll feel the magic of Sylvan Dale and leave restored, re-energized, and re-focused on the truly important things in life.
So pull up a chair and join our family table. The breakfast bell is ringing, and the hot, fluffy pancakes are waiting - made from scratch, of course! Come join us and experience the beauty of Sylvan Dale, the "wooded valley" that surpasses expectations.
