Current Beef Availability ~ as of February/March 2015

The demand for 100% grass-fed beef is growing quickly, so we are usually sold out one to three months in advance.

We are now taking advance deposits of $100 on wholes, halves and quarters on beef to be processed during Spring and Summer months. Bulk beef is provided in the order deposits are received, so contact us soon to get on the list!

We currently have ground beef on hand. Our 100% Grass-fed Ground Beef is 85-88% lean (15% or less fat) and is available in 1 lb. packages, with a minimum order of 10 lbs. In response to requests and because of our own research (scientifically and at the dinner table!) we increased slightly the fat content of our ground beef to provide more flavorful meals with higher levels of Omega-3 (the good fat) and other essential nutrients.

Ten pounds is the minimum purchase.

Bulk prices based on actual package weight, so you know exactly what you pay for.

Unlike many grass-fed beef producers, we now charge by the actual weight of the beef packages you take home with you. In the past we charged by "hanging weight," which is the weight of a side of beef after it hangs in the curing room for 14-17 days. Hanging weight prices per pound appear to be low, but that's because when bone, fat and trim are removed from the carcass, the weight of the remaining beef ranges from 62 to 69% of hanging weight.

For example, from a side of beef with a hanging weight of 290 lbs., you may receive anywhere from 180 to 210 lbs. of packaged meat. If you paid $4.32/lb. hanging weight, plus processing fees, you would actually be paying anywhere from $7.05 to $8.18 per pound of take-home meat. To avoid this variability, we charge by the package, "take-home" weight, which includes processing fees. So you know exactly what you're paying per pound!  Your total bill cannot be provided until your beef has been weighed out after processing. You can estimate your total using the table below.

When you compare 100% grass-fed beef prices, make sure you don't confuse hanging and package weights!

For example, if you desire special cuts or would prefer more stew meat and less ground beef, or beef patties instead of one-pound packages, or if you would prefer a thicker cut on your steaks, just let us know.
