Our historic working horse and cattle ranch has been in operation since the 1920's. Purchased by the Jessup family in 1946, its 3,200 acres are waiting to be discovered by you! An easy drive from Denver International Airport, you will find a little piece of Heaven tucked on the quiet side of Eagle Ridge, on the banks of the Big Thompson River. It's probably the best place you’ve never been!

HOW DUDE RANCHING GOT ITS START

In the late 1800's, the coming of the Railroad to the Northern Plains provided a way for folks from the East to travel West.

Many, curious about the Western lifestyle, stayed with ranchers in their bunkhouses and guest rooms and helped out with ranch chores in exchange for their meals.

Easterners were easily identified by their "duds." Westerners eventually referred to their new found friends as "dudes!"

Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch carries on the western "Dude" Ranching tradition, offering Western life-style adventures to folks from all over the world — still fondly called "dudes."

Enjoy a cool dip in the outdoor heated pool, or a soothing soak in the hot tub, after a great time on the trail.

Swing into the saddle and head out for the early morning breakfast ride, or move Heart-J cattle up the gulch.

We raise and train our herd of registered Quarter horses so you can count on a reliable, responsive, and handsome mount—every ride!

Daily riding instruction gives you the opportunity to increase your riding skills, and with 3,200 acres of Colorado foothills beauty, you'll find plenty of room to roam!

Our cow-calf operation is representative of the authentic West. You can participate in cattle work, round- ups, team penning, and cattle drives. (Check weekly activity schedule.)

If you are an angler, you will appreciate the private Ranch fishery managed for wild trout habitat. Your trophy catch awaits!

With over 50% of our land under conservation easement, your breathtaking views are protected, and so are the abundant wildlife!

Our low, mile high elevation (same as Denver) is perfect for multi-generational families. No high-altitude adjustment here. You'll breath fresh and easy the moment you arrive!

A short 77-minute drive from Denver International Airport reduces the travel challenge so you won't suffer trip fatigue getting here. Ground transportation is available to bring you directly to our front door.
