RIDING ADVENTURES

Sylvan Dale’s 3,200 acres offer you a “don’t fence me in” riding experience.

Rides can be geared to your skill level with shorter rides through gentle terrain to climbing rides with ridge-top views.

Trail Rides/Rates

Our most requested rides range from one to three hours.  Saddle bag lunches can be provided for rides two hours or longer at $8.00 per rider.

1 hour ride………………$28 per rider

1½  hour ride……………$38 per rider

2 hour ride……………….$45 per rider

3 hour ride……………….$57 per rider

If you are looking for some jogging or loping in the trail a riding assessment can be arranged to evaluate your skills. ($12 per rider)  Half day and all day rides can also be arranged for riders with adequate skill and endurance.

Lead-Around Rides

A safe and fun first-time-in-the-saddle experience for the little buckaroo  (ages 6 and under).  Child must be accompanied by an adult.   

Four times around the arena………………………………$8.00

Group Events and Special Occasions:

• If you are planning a group picnic outing at Sylvan Dale, include horseback riding as part of your recreation.   We will make it easy for you, and your guests will thank you for it. 

• If you are planning a business retreat at Sylvan Dale, consider utilizing horses in your leadership training or team building activities. 

• And when it comes to birthday parties, there is nothing better than horses followed by a campfire party complete with cowboy hats!

Riding Adventures with Cowboy Cookin’

Join us for a breakfast ride, steak ride, moonlight ride, or overnight pack trip.   Round up at least six riders we will arrange your own private ride.  Or…sign up at scheduled times as listed under Specialty Rides.

Western Horsemanship Instruction:

Sylvan Dale offers Western Horsemanship Classes spring and fall for riders of all ages from six to adult.  Private instruction is offered year round. 

RULES OF THE TRAIL:

• All rides must be accompanied by wranglers
• No jogging or loping unless approved by wrangler after instruction
• Children must be 7 years old
• No double riding
• No cell phones or pagers, please
• No double riding
• Weight limit for riders is 250 lbs.

MAKIN' IT EASY:

• Call ahead for reservations
• Wear long pants, tennis shoes or boots and a hat
• Arrive 20 minutes early - rides leave on time!
• Pay and pick up ticket at ranch office
• Sign Assumption of Risk Form
• Have a great ride!
