Fly fishing Catch-and-Release
Our fishing waters include two miles of private access
to the Big Thompson River, plus five stocked ponds
on the main ranch, trophy trout lakes in the Big Valley,
and several bass ponds. Fishing clubs use the Ranch
for outings, and business groups often schedule fly
fishing lessons or guided fishing excursions for participants.
Except as noted below, fly fishing at Sylvan Dale is “Catch-and-release.” Reservations
and a ranch permit is required, and a Colorado fishing
license is necessary for river fishing. For your group,
we can arrange

Catch-and-Keep Fishing (Groups only)
Limited to the main ranch trout ponds. We supply the
poles, a fishing attendant, and bait. We will also
clean and package your trout for taking home, or by
special arrangement we will include trout in group
meals. Arrangements can also be made for fishing derbies
and other special events.
Fishing
Fees are based on the type of fishing (fly
fishing or “catch-and-keep”), the hours
reserved, the number of people, and the waters used.
