THE HERITAGE

Our largest gathering room features a hickory wood floor, and a vaulted log ceiling. Picture windows look out to our beautiful gardens and across Rainbow Lake to Eagle Ridge. The large stone fireplace makes even this spacious room cozy.

Relax on the wooden porch reminiscent of the Old West, or visit the adjacent game room. A heated swimming pool (seasonal), tennis courts, and hot tub are right outside. The Heritage is beautifully suited to a variety of functions be it a business meeting, celebration dinner, wedding reception, or an ol' time hoe down!

THE JESSUP LODGE

This original historic lodge dates back to 1919. Vaulted rustic beams create a feeling of openness in this historic building renovated in the mid 80's. Moss rock fireplaces and upholstered western-style couches and chairs enhance the nooks and corners, inviting quiet conversation.

You'll find yourself drawn to the outdoor deck overlooking the Big Thompson River. Satellite TV is available by request in the Red Ridge Room—our best kept secret! Multi-purpose and multi-inspirational, you will appreciate the unique comfort of the Jessup Lodge.

THE WAGON WHEEL

Looking for the ambiance of the Old West? With its knotty pine walls and log furniture The Wagon Wheel gathering room is the facility for you.

Sandstone fireplace, kitchen, sitting room, gathering space and outside patio with campfire area are perfectly suited for your family reunion or next business meeting. Relax on our comfortable couches and chairs, or create a formal meeting space. Located next to the river, this building offers 11 adjacent lodging rooms, each with a private bath, and one larger unit with three bedrooms and two private baths.

INTERNET, WI-FI, AND OTHER GEEKY STUFF

Although the Sylvan Dale experience allows you to escape distractions, we respect your need to "keep connected" with the world "beyond the ridge"!

Complimentary wireless Internet is available throughout the main ranch grounds, including lodging rooms.

The Cotner College Room in the Heritage is equipped with a desktop computer, Internet access, a printer, and a courtesy telephone. Check at the Front Desk for other available business services.

Most cell phones do work in our valley…if you are in the right spot! Verizon has a strong signal in and around the Heritage; AT&T is a little trickier. One guest identified a post on our pasture fence with a great signal that also comes with a great view!

But seriously, our Verizon cell phone booster provides three simultaneous lines of service. AT&T has good reception at our entry gate. Sprint, T-Mobile and other carriers probably require a road trip into town, seven miles to the East.

If your visit with us calls for any A/V equipment, we appreciate knowing ahead of time. Our extensive equipment inventory can accommodate most any request. If we don't have it, we'll get it!

Wide grassy lawns covered with shade trees slope gently toward the sparkling waters of the Big Thompson River.

One of our premier wedding and picnic sites, The Heart-J features a heart-shaped pond, covered food court, picnic table seating, designated parking, and restrooms.

A sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and game room are dedicated to your event. Lots of room to roam, and access to our heated pool and tennis courts, add to the day's enjoyment.

Ask about fishing at Rainbow Lake, lead-around horse rides, roping lessons, hayrides, or trail rides on our own born-raised-and-trained horses. There is something for everyone!

DADDY-J

Located on a quiet bend of the Big Thompson River on one side, and tranquil ponds on the other, the Daddy-J site is shaded by cottonwoods and willows. A covered pavilion with cooking grills and picnic table seating is adjacent to a grassy lawn bordered by a wildflower berm and staging area… a favorite amongst our brides.

There is a lot of room to roam for picnics and other gatherings. Your event has dedicated parking, outbuildings, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. Ask about access to our heated pool and tennis courts. Our wide range of add-on activities such as lead-around horse rides, roping lessons, hayrides and trail rides, are bound to please. You'll love this secluded venue!

COTTONWOOD GULCH

Tucked at the base of Green Ridge, Cottonwood Gulch is a magical mountain hideaway. This site offers a private location for BYO (bring your own food) outings.

Designated parking, outhouses, picnic table seating, cooking grill, campfire ring, horseshoe pit, "tree house" deck, tree swings, and hiking trails make this the perfect spot for birthday parties and picnics! Call (970) 667-3915 for more details.

LODGING FACILITIES

You'll enjoy the comfort of our beautiful riverside setting! Each lodging unit is unique. Cabins, guest houses, and Wagon Wheel rooms are comfortably decorated in the spirit of the Old West and furnished with antique accents. Some have fireplaces, and our guest houses have full kitchens.

Plenty of lodging configurations are available, double or single occupancy, or family style! Maximum occupancy is 85. Ask your Sylvan Dale planner to assist with the best choices for your visit.

Because our guest rooms are television- and telephone-free, guests often comment on the opportunity it affords to become closer through fireside chats and evening walks. Many find they can actually read that book they haven't had time for! You will find a deck of cards in your room and board games in the Round Up closet. Don't forget the hot tub!

Clustered in the main yard amid flowers, giant cottonwoods and towering blue spruce, our cabins are uniquely appointed with western décor and antique accents. All have claw-foot bathtubs/showers, refrigerator, coffee pot and sitting rooms with optional adjoining doors.

Beds are queen size with an additional single bed in some rooms. Adjoining outside porches provide a great place to kick back and relax. Carpeted, and air conditioned comfort for two to four people.

SWEETHEART CABINS

The sound of the river and the whispering pines can't be missed in your sweetheart cabin… if you open the window! Adorned with custom western décor, enjoy this secluded space including a living room with fireplace, comfortable furniture, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot.

This cabin has a separate bedroom area with queen size bed and private bath. A private deck overlooks the grounds. Ideal for Romantic Escapes or your Chief Executive Officer!

A two-story lodge decorated in the old west tradition, the Wagon Wheel offers lodging and gathering all in one! Bed arrangement varies with each room–twins, single, doubles. Rent the entire Wagon Wheel and include the gathering room! The fireplace is a guest favorite and the stage encourages the show of hidden talent! Full kitchen is handy for BYO meals and beverages or midnight snacks.

Perfect for family reunions and business retreats, you'll find 13 sleeping rooms in the Wagon Wheel, housing up to 30 people.

This is an original spacious lodging unit dating back to the 1940s. Because The Big Thompson Suite is located above the dining room, with the help of the bell, you could be first down for breakfast! This unit has a pleasant sitting room, a single bath, and two bedrooms, each with a queen and single bed.

The expansive porch overlooks the beautiful Big Thompson River—thus giving the suite its name.

Settle in to a Sylvan Dale Guest House and you'll never want to leave! Full kitchen allows you to augment our Ranch meals with your own special brand of munchies or to be self-sufficient if you choose. Perfect for larger families, small retreats, or executive getaways.

The Homestead: The original Jessup home, this Guest House has three bedrooms, two half-baths, one tub/shower, kitchen, spacious living room (with fireplace), and an outdoor patio. The living room is suitable for small meetings. Sleeps up to six.

Mama-J's: Secluded under old willows adjacent to a pond, the Mama-J Guest House is a lovely four-bedroom home with two and a half baths, a spacious kitchen, screened-in porch, outside deck, and a window-lined living room with an old-fashioned pot-bellied wood-burning stove. Sleeps up to nine.

Isabella Bird: Newly remodeled, this Guest House offers seclusion along with a great view of the upper pastures and surrounding foothills. Three bedrooms, two full baths, and a comfortable dining and living area with fireplace. Walls are covered in nostalgic knotty pine. Sleeps up to six.

Tommy House: Across the road from Mama-J's, this quaint 1930-style farm house has two bedrooms, bath, kitchen, and a living room with fireplace. This cozy cabin has a deck that overlooks a series of ponds created in the 1960s by Maurice Jessup, owner. Sleeps up to four.

To enhance your stay suit up for a game of tennis, challenge your group to a game of volleyball, pitch some horseshoes, and brush up on your skills with a game of ping pong or billiards in "The Roundup" room. Enjoy a refreshing dip in our outdoor heated pool (seasonal) or work out the kinks from that three-hour horseback ride in the hot tub. Ask about near-by bike trails. Jog and hike then curl up in the "Book Nook" with your favorite read!
